On the 4-5th of May 2011, Ezenze Ltd, The Swedish and Danish Trade Councils, Innovation Norway, UK Trade & Investment and Aescap Venture organized the eight Anglonordic Biotech Conference.

In total 240 key decision makers representing 180 biotechnology-, pharmaceutical- and venture capital companies attended the one-and-a-half-day-conference. The conference started with a drink reception the evening before (4th of May) at the Norwegian Ambassador’s Residence in London. Belgium was the guest country 2011.

Conference benefits included the newest partnering software that enabled participants to select and pre-arrange meetings with the most suitable potential partners. In total the conference had 140 pre-booked one-to-one meetings and assumable over 300 casual meetings were taking place in the lounge area.

New for 2011 was Aescap Venture’s Investment Room that offered twelve flourishing biotechnology companies the opportunity to present investment pitches towards an audience of 35 global Investment firms and pharmaceuticals.

Summary of the Anglonordic Biotech Conference VII, 2010

On 15th of April 2010, Ezenze Ltd, The Swedish and Danish Trade Councils, Innovation Norway, UK Trade & Investment and Atlas Venture organised the seventh Anglonordic Biotech Conference.

In total 270 key decision makers from 200 biotechnology-, pharmaceutical- and venture capital companies attended the one-and-a-half-day-conference (of 280 registered delegates, 270 turned up, which means there was only a 3.5 % drop out).

The conference started with a drink reception the evening before at the Spanish Ambassador’s Residence in London. Spain was the Guest Country 2010.

The questionnaire was sent out to 244 delegates. In total 99 companies/delegates participated in this evaluation. The 99 companies attending this evaluation answered that thanks to the Anglonordic Biotech Conference they have together made approximately 70 business deals and partnerships with other attending companies since the conference started 2004. Together they would also after the conference 2010 do approximately 400 follow-ups with other attending companies.

C onference benefits included the newest partnering software that enabled participants to select and pre-arrange meetings with the most suitable potential partners. In total the conference had 150 pre-booked one-to-one meetings and assumable over 300 casual meetings were taking place in the lounge area.

On 23rd of April 2009, Ezenze, The Swedish and Danish Trade Councils, Innovation Norway, UK Trade & Investment and Atlas Venture organised the sixth Anglonordic Biotech Conference.

In total 265 key decision makers from 185 biotechnology-, pharmaceutical- and venture capital companies attended the one-and-a-half-day-conference.
The evaluation questionnaire was sent out to 205 delegates. In total 96 companies/delegates participated in this year’s evaluation.

The 96 companies attending this evaluation answered that thanks to the Anglonordic Biotech Conference they have together made 66 business deals and partnerships with other attending companies since the conference started 2004. This year the 96 companies together would do 435 follow-ups with other attending companies.

Conference benefits included the newest partnering software that enabled participants to select and pre-arrange meetings with the most suitable potential partners. In total the conference had 145 pre-booked one-to-one meetings and assumable over 300 casual meetings were taking place in the lounge area.

A big success 2009 was Atlas Venture’s Investment Room that offered 18 biotechnology companies the opportunity to do investment pitches towards an audience of 45 European Investment firms and pharmaceuticals.

96 percent of the attending companies were very satisfied with the conference and said that they want to attend ABC VII in the spring 2010.

Summary of the Anglonordic Biotech Conference V, 2008

On 15th of May 2008, Ezenze, The Swedish and Danish Trade Councils, Innovation Norway, UK Trade & Investment and Atlas Venture organised the fifth Anglonordic Biotech Conference. This appreciated event was first held on 1st of April 2004 at the DTI’s Conference Centre in London.

In total 262 key decision makers from 195 biotechnology-, pharmaceutical- and venture capital companies attended the one-and-a-half-day conference.
The questionnaire was sent out to 212 delegates from biotechnology companies, pharmaceuticals and venture capital firms. In total 87 companies/delegates participated in this evaluation.

The 87 companies attending this evaluation answered that thanks to the Anglonordic Biotech Conference they have made 35 business deals and even more partnerships with other attending
companies since the conference started 2004. This year the 87 companies together would do 377 follow-ups with other attending companies.

Conference benefits included the newest partnering software (BioPartner.co.uk) that enabled participants to select and pre-arrange meetings with the most suitable potential partners. In total the
conference had 114 pre-booked one-to-one meetings and assumable over 300 casual meetings were taking place in the lounge area.

A big success of the fifth conference was Atlas Venture’s Investment Room that offered 19 biotechnology companies the opportunity to do investment pitches towards an audience of 50 European Investment firms and pharmaceuticals.

94 procent of the attending companies were satisfied with the conference and want to attend ABC VI in 2009. The other 6 percent answered ”Don’t know”, if they want to attend next year’s conference.

Summary of the Anglonordic Biotech Conference IV, 2007

On May 31, 2007, Ezenze, the Nordic Trade Councils, UK Trade & Investment and Atlas Venture organised the fourth Anglonordic Biotech Conference, which was held at the DTI’s Conference Centre in London.
The main aim of the conference was to promote and initiate partnerships, investment and alliances between the regions and provide information about the latest news on European biotech funding and strategic partnering. In total approximately 220 key decision makers from 180 biotechnology-, biopharmaceutical- and venture capital companies attended the one-day conference.

New to the conference 2007 was that is was divided up into four areas which had activities ongoing simultaneously. The four areas were the Main Conference Room, Atlas Venture’s Investment Room, the One-to-one meeting area and the Lounge & Exhibition area.
This year the conference had 104 pre-booked one-to-one meetings and assumable over 300 casual meetings were taking place in the lounge area.

A big success of the fourth conference was Atlas Venture’s Investment Room that offered 22 biotechnology companies the opportunity to do investment pitches in front of an audience of 45 European Investment firms and pharmaceuticals.

Summary of the Anglonordic Biotech Conference III - 2006

On May 4, 2006, Ezenze, the Nordic Trade Councils and UK Trade & Investment organised the third Anglonordic Biotech Conference, which was held at the DTI’s Conference Centre in London.

The main aim of the conference was to promote and initiate partnerships and alliances between the regions and provide information about the latest news on European biotech funding and strategic partnering. In total approximately 170 key decision makers from 130 British and Nordic biotech, pharmaceutical and venture capital companies attended the one-day conference. 85% of the delegates were at CEO, CFO, VP or Investment Manager Level. Conference benefits included an interactive website with possibilities of pre-arranging meetings. On this years conference there were 91 pre-booked one-to-one meetings and assumable over 300 casual meetings. The evaluation made after the conference showed that 97% of the attending companies have had further business contacts with the companies visiting the conference. This conference was covered by several magazines such as "Nature", "New Scientist" etc

On April 21 2005, the Nordic Trade Councils and the London Stock Exchange organised a follow-up conference to the highly appreciated Anglonordic Biotech Conference I held 1 April 2004 at the DTI's Conference Centre in London. This conference was held at London Stock Exchanges selected premises in the centre of London.

The main aim of the conference was to promote and initiate partnerships and alliances between the regions and provide information about the latest news on European biotech funding and strategic partnering. In total approximately 150 key decision makers from 100 British and Nordic biotech, pharmaceutical and venture capital companies attended the one-day conference. Conference benefits included an interactive website with possibilities of pre-arranging meetings. In total approximately 50 partner meetings were carried out during the conference day.

Summary of the Anglo-Nordic Biotech Conference I - 2004

On April 1 2004, the Nordic Trade Councils together with the UK Trade & Investment organised the first follow-up conference to the highly appreciated Anglo-Swedish Biotech Conference II in April 2003 at the London Stock Exchange in London. The Conference was held at DTI's selected Conference Centre on 1 Victoria Street.

In total approximately 160 key decision makers from 100 British and Nordic drug discovery, pharmaceutical and venture capital companies attended the one-day conference.

The main aim of the conference was to promote and initiate partnership and alliances between the regions, provide information about the latest news on European funding and to develop a forum that will make the European biotech market even more competitive.

Conference benefits included an interactive website with possibilities of pre-arranging meetings.
